Ok, I understand that whether or not taking a hike is actually an option can depend a lot on your symptoms and capacity at the moment, so you don’t have to take the subject of this blog literally, necessarily.
But if a hike isn’t an option, then perhaps a walk around the block or just down the street and back might be?
Or if that feels like too much, then even sitting outside in the shade for a few minutes would be great. Just try to get outside for at least a few minutes every day.
There is something about nature — the fresh air, the natural sunlight, the breeze on your skin — that is healing. I can’t even tell you how many times I have had clients tell me that going on walks in nature is one of the best ways they know to help them calm their nervous system and feel more grounded.
So just count this as your friendly reminder to go outside, engage your senses, and ground yourself in the moment. Enjoy!
