One of the recurring themes that I have come across lately as I’ve done interviews for The Concussion Coach Podcast is that of support groups.
People need people! Healing happens in connection. We see things from different perspectives, feel validated, and know we’re not alone when we hear others’ stories. And sharing what’s really going on for us in a setting where others actually understand us is incredibly healing and an important part of processing.
Here are a few places you might look to find a support group online or in your area:
Brain Injury Association of America: www.biausa.org
Your state’s brain injury association or alliance
My friend Kaylee’s Brain Injury non-profit: Brainsparx: www.brainsparx.org
Concussion Legacy Foundation: www.concussionfoundation.org
Feel free to share any other good support group resources that you’ve found, and I’ll pass them on in another newsletter. Thanks!
Sending lots of love,
Bethany
