This is one of my favorite go-to thoughts.
It’s believable for me when I zoom out and look at the big picture and remind myself that God isn’t up there wringing His hands in worry about whatever it is I’m concerned about.
Trusting that there’s greater purpose to the suffering we experience allows for so much peace, acceptance, and capacity to heal and move forward.
Something that my mentor Jody Moore says frequently is that the way we can know something was “supposed” to have happened is that it happened.
There is no use arguing the reality of what is.
Acceptance truly is the first step towards being able to move forward.
However, getting to acceptance sometimes requires allowing space for grief and processing clean pain (the pain that moves you forward rather than keeps you stuck).
If you are going through something really hard right now, please know that you are seen, known, and loved. You are not alone, and you are valuable and worthy of all the goodness and love in the world, even if you feel broken or less-than.
You’ve got this. And really, truly, in the grand scheme of things, nothing has gone wrong here.
