Letting Go

“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” –Joseph Campbell

This quote resonated with me and reminded me of the conversation I had with Fetirke Deskins recently.

She also spoke of the importance of letting go and accepting what is.

Often we resist acceptance of things in our life that we don’t like because we think that if we accept ourselves as we are or our situation as it is, we will never work to change.

This is not true and is actually the biggest thing keeping us stuck.

If we want to get somewhere and we put our desired location into the GPS, the first thing it needs to calculate the best route is to determine where we are starting from.

The GPS doesn’t berate us for being where we are.  It doesn’t question our worth or worthiness based on our starting point.  It simply uses our current location as information from which to plan the next step.

We can give ourselves that kind of acceptance too.

And when we do, it allows us to open up to possibilities we may otherwise miss by focusing so much on hating where we are.

Try it today – try loving and accepting you as you are, right now.

That doesn’t mean you’re going to stay that way, but it sure makes the present moment more pleasant and future moments more full of possibility.

Sending lots of love,

Bethany
