Hey friends!
One of my favorite parts about doing my podcast is getting to meet and learn from so many amazing people.
In a recent episode of The Concussion Coach Podcast, I got to interview a fellow OT who is passionate about helping people with Post Concussion Syndrome.
Along the many things we discussed, she shared one of her favorite tips to help people calm their nervous system: eye palming.
This is a strategy I’ve been aware of for a while and have shared with many people, but Kellianne gave a new insight to the practice that I hadn’t considered.
Here’s how to do it:
-Remove glasses if you wear them
-Cover your eyes with the palms of your hands
-Give enough pressure that you may feel a bit of suction but not too much, but you are able to block out all light
-Keep your eyes open
-Take some nice calming breaths while you wait for the residual light to fade completely
This should feel really good and help your system relax.
It’s a great tool to use any time your eyes are feeling strained or you’ve been sitting at a computer for too long.

Have a great weekend!
